WNBA player Brittney Griner has been sentenced to 9 years in a Russian prison for breaking Russian law. And, of course, it's unacceptable for Russia to enforce its own laws and hold an American prisoner, so the Biden Administration is looking to spring Griner.

According to the New York Times, Biden is considering trading brutal arms dealer Viktor Bout, known as "The Merchant of Death" to Russia for the America-hating WNBA athlete.

I wish I were making this up.

Here's a 2010 feature from 60 Minutes on the guy Biden wants to free in exchange for Griner:

"Rarely does the U.S. government want anyone more than it wanted this man ... U.S. government officials say Bout became the world's most notorious arms dealer by fueling civil wars around the world ... The U.S. saw him as a threat because of his ability to arm terrorists targeting the United States."

This guy is a bad, bad dude and extremely dangerous.

I am not so sure about this trade.
