You knew today would be a day of melodrama coming from the media and Democrats on the one-year anniversary of the Capitol riots.

We knew there would be stupid takes and dumb comparisons... but to see those coming directly from the White House and the Vice President is particularly galling.

Watch as Kamala Harris compares the events on January 6th, where a couple of hundred crazy Trump supporters wandered around the Capitol for a couple of hours, to Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 terror attacks.

Certain dates echo throughout history including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them where they were, and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault.

Our democracy came under assault? What planet are the Democrats living on. You had about 200 people who broke into a government building, mostly stayed within the velvet ropes, sat behind people's desks, took lecterns, and wore horns on their heads.

Democracy was nowhere close to being in danger. There's no reason to continue to bring this up except for political purposes.

"Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory.

December 7th, 1941, September 11th, 2001, and January 6th, 2021."

Wait. Wait. Wait a minute.

Pearl Harbor was a military sneak attack resulting in the deaths of 2,400 Americans.

9/11 was a terrorist attack on civilians where more than 3,000 Americans lost their lives.

Only one person died as a result of the January 6th Capitol riot and that was a rioter, Ashli Babbit, who was shot by Capitol Police.

This is nothing AT ALL like the real-life attacks of Pearl Harbor and 9/11 and it is an insult to suggest so.

Kamala goes on:

On that day, I was not only Vice-President elect, I was also a United States Senator. And I was here at the Capitol that morning, at a classified hearing, with fellow members of the Senate Intelligence committee.

Hours later, the gates of the Capitol were breached. I had left, but my thoughts immediately turned, not only to my colleagues, but to my staff who had been forced to seek refuge in our office, converting filing cabinets into barricades.

Kamala was no longer at the Capitol when the riot was going on. She was in no danger. She claims her staff thought they were in danger, but the rioters at the Capitol did not attack any official, they didn't endanger any staffer that day whatsoever.

It's reasonable to feel fear in that sort of situation, anybody would. But does that mean that we have to treat these nuts storming the Capitol the same as Kamikaze pilots at Pearl Harbor or Hijackers on 9/11?

But that's precisely the goal of the Left today.

And they want to lump all Trump supporters in the same category.

She goes on to say that the people in the riot were attacking American "institution, values, and ideals".

We all saw what our nation would look like if the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy are successful.

Who is she talking about when she says this? Who could she be referring to?

Why, of course, she's talking about Donald Trump. She's talking about any Republican who objected to certifying the election results. She's talking about any person who supports Donald Trump.

Those are the "forces" she's talking about.

It's you.

You didn't have to be in DC that day or storm the Capitol. To the Left, if you voted for Trump you are one of the evil forces who want to destroy Democracy.

Most of America isn't buying that line, and try as they might it isn't going to win them any favor in 2024.
