The house where the Goonies movie was shot is now up for sale. Here are some mandatory real estate shots:
Nice, right? And that view!
No wonder developers wanted the town in the movie.
In the Goonies, the Walsh family live in the house, and Michael Walsh and his friends go on a grand adventure in search of pirate treasure to help their parents keep their houses.
I don't know what prices were like in Astoria in the 1980s, but if you're wanting to buy the Goonies house today, you're definitely going to need One-Eyed Willy's treasure to do it. The place is listed at a cool $1,650,000.
That's a bit steep, but on the other hand, you would get to see an endless train of people doing the Truffle Shuffle at your gate.
Apparently the house is the premiere destination of many Goonies pilgrimages to Astoria.
Other residents hate all the tourists. There are signs everywhere saying "No Goonies allowed."
So, you get the added bonus that all your neighbors will hate you if you buy it.
Sounds like a ton of fun, and exactly what you would expect from being a goonie. Sign me up!
