Apple TV+ is going to premiere a show starring the mother-daughter duo of Hillary and Chelsea Clinton talking to celebrity guests.
While the show should be called "Annoying Rich Feminists in Cars Complaining About Everything" it's instead entitled "Gutsy" after the duo's book of the same name.
Set to sit down for "intimate conversations" with the mother-daughter duo are Kim Kardashian, Megan Thee Stallion, Dr. Jane Goodall, Gloria Steinem, Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, among others.
I don't know if I can think of anything I would want to watch less than a casual sit-down between Hillary and Megan Thee Stallion.
(Can you imagine Apple hosting any docuseries about pioneering conservative figures???)
But I guess vulgar, twerking rappers are the sorts of people little girls are supposed to look up to these days.
That, and cackling corrupt political animals like Clinton.
The eight-part docuseries was picked up straight-to-series in December 2020 and is based on the Clintons' The Book of Gutsy Women. Apple describes the series as following the Clintons as they "embark on a thought-provoking journey to speak with pioneering women artists, activists, community leaders and everyday heroes who show us what it truly means to be gutsy. The series shows Hillary and Chelsea as you've never seen them before, revealing their special mother-daughter bond and the unique, multi-generational way they approach the important and timely issues highlighted in each episode."
Okay, I'll give them Jane Goodall, she's actually accomplished something.
But when I think of "pioneering women," I don't know if Kim Kardashian is the name that comes to mind. Unless you mean she pioneered the field of turning a sex-tape "leak" into billions of dollars of fame.
The lineup, the hosts, this entire show really is the perfect show for the our messed up society.
