Homeless vet issued citation in San Diego ... for blowing bubbles

The only thing it's illegal to blow in San Diego?

Bubbles.

So, there's this guy in San Diego called "Bubble Man."

He's out there spreading joy, blowing bubbles at parks, making people smile, reminding us that, yes, there are still some simple pleasures in life.

Bubble Man, whose real name is Sandy Snakenburg, is a "homeless disabled veteran" who has been doing this for over a decade. He's got a whole thing going — "Bubbleology." It's not just about bubbles; it's the "science, art, and magic" of bubbles. Snakenburg lives out of his truck and runs a non-profit called "Bubble World."

You can't be Bubble Man without the Bubblemobile

Snakenburg was at La Jolla Cove doing what he does best — making big, beautiful bubbles — when suddenly, Park Rangers swooped in and gave him a ticket.

The crime? "Liquid littering."

Apparently, when those bubbles pop, the residue is a menace to society — or at least to the grass.

(No thoughts on human feces or used needles?)

A clear and present danger to San Diego

Because California has a million bureaucratic rules for something as simple as blowing bubbles, Snakenburg says he's got insurance, he's registered with the city, and his bubble mixture follows all local ordinances and environmental regulations.

But none of that seems to matter when there's a blade of grass in distress.

Here's a live look at what Snakenburg should have done when confronted by that ranger:

California: Where poop is allowed on the street, but soap is not.
