How does a free stay at New York's historic and iconic Roosevelt Hotel sound? All you have to do is illegally cross the US border and get sent to New York

It's a real crap shoot after you cross the border and get sent to New York City courtesy of Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Some get sent to jail in Rikers Island. Others get housed in a fancy school gymnasium. But others might just be lucky enough to get an all-expenses paid trip to the historic and luxurious Roosevelt Hotel in the heart of Manhattan.

The Roosevelt Hotel actually closed down in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic response by New York, so now the city is using the hollowed shell of the former landmark for their own purposes by housing nearly 1,000 illegal aliens there.

This week, Adams will open the Roosevelt Hotel as a welcome center for newly arrived border crossers and illegal aliens before eventually opening almost 200 rooms to migrant families with children.

Eventually, the hotel is set to house close to 1,000 border crossers and illegal aliens. The cost will fall exclusively on New Yorkers, who will foot an annual $75 million bill to convert the Roosevelt Hotel into a migrant shelter.

  • Step 1: Cause financial ruin for hotel by locking down the city.
  • Step 2: Repurpose hotel to house illegal aliens costing tens of millions each year.
  • Step 3: ???

Seriously, New York is under such bad management. But they're the ones who chose to be a "sanctuary city" so they're living with the consequences.

The owners of the hotel are actually making more of a profit off of taxpayers keeping the hotel open as a refuge center than they would be filling it with tourists.

With Texas's aggressive out-of-state busing strategy, the 1,000-person occupancy is only a small percentage of the illegal aliens arriving. New. York is going to have to get even more creative.

Or, you know, Democrats could get serious about the border.

But I don't see that happening.
