I kid you not, Dolce & Gabbana just released a perfume for dogs
· Aug 9, 2024 · NottheBee.com

Well, Dolce & Gabbana has been working like a dog to get this new product out, and let's just say a little puppy love went into each and every bottle.

Yes, Dolce & Gabbana has released a new perfume … FOR DOGS!

For €99 (£84), owners can have their pets smelling of the ‘warm notes' of ylang ylang, musk and sandalwood. The new luxury dog mist has a 24-carat gold-plated paw on the glass bottle and customers are offered an exclusive Dolce & Gabbana dog collar with a tag.

They're totally barking up the right tree here, because there's nothing worse than that wet dog smell when you're trying to woof down a burger after a long day of work and your little guy is waiting for scraps. We're in the dog days of summer, and I'd call it perfect timing for this new product, though I can't guarantee your dog's gonna like the stuff.

But the RSPCA has warned against messing with dogs' sense of smell by giving them their own fragrance, warning the odour could come across as unpleasant for them - and hamper their ability to connect with their surroundings.

It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, so I'm guessing other brands will show up with their own scents and try to please both man and man's best friend with some similar product. Hard to say anybody's gonna get a dog to wear perfume, but hey, every dog has its day.

Here are some brands who have already tried this:

In 2007 the luxury London department store Harrods introduced a dog perfume called Sexy Beast. In February 2022, Elizabeth II launched Happy Hounds dog cologne, embellished with the Sandringham royal estate crest. For £20, the British retailer Space NK sells a dog spray with 'crisp top notes'. Kiehl's, owned by L'Oréal, sells a cuddly coat spritz for £18.
