What in the world is actually happening here?
I've been to a wide variety of church denominations, from traditional Catholic mass to Pentecostals yelling in tongues as people jump up and down the aisles. Never in my life have I seen anything quite like... this.
Apparently, this was an Easter dance led by a priest in Austria. If I'm not mistaken, they're dancing to a form of Jerusalema, an African style that's been incredibly popular on TikTok the past year.
People felt a bit strongly about this performance at a formal mass service:
I'd agree that a masked priest dancing TikTok-style inside a historic European parish is a bit odd. Then again, I'm just a wily Protestant, so all I know about dancing is how to stand.
I can do no other.
