I find it sarcastically hard to believe that Jose Domingo Ayala Alas of Palmdale, California, who shot and killed a police dog and then died in a shootout with police in LA, ended up being an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who belonged to the 18th Street gang.
Here he is. Can you tell he's an illegal immigrant gang member?
Me neither.
Here's what happened on the night of November 22, after Jose allegedly took off running during a traffic stop in Burbank.
From Fox News:
Jose Domingo Ayala Alas, 37, allegedly ran during a Nov. 22 traffic stop, leading Burbank police officers and K-9 Spike to chase after him in a residential neighborhood.
Officials said Alas opened fire, shooting Spike, after the dog spotted him in nearby bushes.
Spike was rushed to an emergency veterinarian and was later pronounced dead.
Additional K-9 units would be sent in, along with a SWAT team and air support. "Multiple efforts were made to negotiate" with Alas, who was still armed with a handgun, but he continued to shoot at police. As you might expect, multiple officers returned fire, killing the illegal immigrant gang member.
Welp -- and I'm being very sarcastic -- it's a good thing these California police officers hadn't known in advance that Alas was an illegal immigrant gang member, or he might still be roaming the streets of LA to this day.
