Remember when you were young and dumb as a teenager and did stupid things?
You know, like mobbing a woman to beat her up, firing shots into crowds, and burning cars while destroying a city in planned acts of mob violence?
Oh, that's not your childhood?
Well, according to Chicago's mayor-elect Brandon Johnson, this sort of thing is just normal youthful shenanigans.
Look, demonizing children is wrong! We have to keep them safe as well...
They're young, sometimes they make silly decisions! They do!
Johnson tells stories about how kids like to have fun and do things like sliding down the stairs and taking risks adults wouldn't take.
Then he compares that to THESE "silly mistakes" over the weekend.
Reminder! Here's the "silly mistakes" he's referring to when he talks about last weekend:
Ha ha ha. So dang silly...
This is a worse excuse and defense than the one Lori Lightfoot gave, although it is admittedly similar.
Chicago is a lawless war zone but these teens get a pass. Why do you think that is?
