Outgoing Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot called the violent riots this weekend mostly peaceful: "It's wrong to say that it's mayhem" 🤡

Chicago's outgoing mayor, Lori Lightfoot, has decided to give us one last gem before she leaves the public spotlight (hopefully, for good).

After the violence in Chicago over the weekend, a reporter asked Lightfoot to comment on the riots that took place in the city.

Here's the thing, a vast majority of the young people that came downtown came downtown because it was great weather and an opportunity to enjoy the city. That's absolutely entirely appropriate. There are a few that came with different intentions and they have and they will be dealt with.

But I'm not going to use your language which I think is wrong to say that it's mayhem.

Yeah, a huge mob of violent kids that shot at least two people (several more were grazed), burned cars, destroyed businesses and buses, and attacked random passersby... in one of the biggest tourist spots of the prestigious downtown area!

[Warning: Language, Violence]

That's the definition of "mostly peaceful"!

Definitely not "a state of rowdy disorder" or "random or deliberate violence or damage." We don't have a word like that in English!

Lightfoot wants to act like these violent kids were just like Ferris Bueller, who couldn't waste such a beautiful day by not exploring downtown Chicago.

In reality, Chicago is absolutely a war zone. There's a reason we call it Chiraq.

Here's a message to Lori from a great Chicagoan:

Go home, Lori. You're done.
