Alligator Alcatraz is open for business, and DeSantis says the first detainees will arrive on Wednesday.
This was just an idea two weeks ago, but now the 3,000-bed facility is ready to take detainees. Initially, Florida AG James Uthmeier said the facility could be up and running in 30-60 days.
