This is, sadly, not an uncommon lede graf to read:
Palestinian militants fired dozens of rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel on Wednesday, in a first response to Israeli airstrikes. The rocket fire set off sirens throughout southern Israel and as far away as the Tel Aviv area, on the Mediterranean Sea, 50 miles away.
Regular though it may be, one really doesn't tire of watching Israel's incredible one-of-a-kind Iron Dome defense system make short work of these Palestinian attacks:
Sadly, sometimes even the Iron Dome fails: Israeli officials revealed on Friday that a technical malfunction with a counter-missile led to a Palestinian rocket getting through and striking a residential building. "killing one Israeli and injuring several others."
