White House Press Secretary and resident clown, Jen Psaki, was just asked why we are continuing to purchase Russian oil and not raising oil production in the US.

Her answer, it's no big deal.

Watch:

Reporter: As long as we're buying Russian oil, though, aren't we financing the war?

Psaki: Well, Jackie, again, it's only about 10% of what we're importing. I've not made any announcement about any decision on that front, but our objective and our focus is on making sure that any step we take maximizes the impact on President Putin and minimizes the impact on the American people.

Soooo, it's not a big deal if we finance the Russian war effort because of our dependence on foreign oil, since it's only about 10% of the oil we're bringing in.

She wants to have it both ways and it's not going to work.

First, she wants to downplay how much money we are giving to Russia, saying it's only 10% of our oil imports, so it really isn't helping Russia that much and wouldn't do anything.

On the other hand, stopping the imports from Russia would be disastrous for already increasing gas prices.

So it's a big deal and also not a big deal, get it?

Psaki also poo-poo's the idea of the United States becoming energy independent, as it just was under the Trump administration:

She says the Keystone Pipeline isn't close to being operational, so it wouldn't help. Ignoring the fact that it very easily could be operational right now if Democrats hadn't fought so hard against it for years.

She also completely ignores the second half of the question, in regards to the Biden administration having NO energy-friendly policies.

Under Trump, we were energy independent, and losing Russian oil wouldn't hurt us. Now, it would be devastating because drilling in the US has stopped, thanks to Biden.

This is just one of the many huge messes created by the Biden administration. It looks like they are refusing to learn from their mistakes and doubling down on bad policy.
