Hachette Book Group paid the roughly $10 million figure to Biden for the book to be published by its Little, Brown & Co., The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
Creative Artists Agency, which represents Biden, declined ITK's requests for comment, while the publisher did not immediately respond.
Biden's memoir is fetching a much, much smaller bonus than the Obamas' who held a bidding war for the right to their memoirs and earned $60 million.
Bill Clinton's memoirs after his term in office brought in $15 million.
Biden said earlier this month he had been 'working like hell' to write a memoir documenting his presidency.
