What Kamala is actually talking about is straight democracy, AKA mob rule, AKA the tyranny of the majority, AKA the thing our Founders were terrified of more than having a king ... and the expressed goal of the Democratic Party.
When you line up the popular vote versus the electoral college vote, which is what actually determines elections, Kamala did indeed have a "close" vote,
2004: George W. Bush defeated John Kerry by 2.46% in the popular vote and 286 - 251 in the electoral vote.
2008: Barack Obama defeated John McCain by 7.27% in the popular vote and 365 - 173 in the electoral vote (total blowout).
2012: Barack Obama defeated Mitt Romney by 3.86% in the popular vote and 332 - 206 in the electoral vote.
2016: Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by 304 - 227 in the electoral vote despite losing the popular vote by 2.09%.
2020: Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump by 4.45% in the popular vote and 306 - 232 in the electoral vote.
2024: Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris by 1.48% (49.80% - 48.32%) in the popular vote and 312 - 226 in the electoral vote.
But Kamala failed to note one election in her mind (or she really is just delusional): The 2000 presidential election.
Bush won very narrowly (anyone remember the hanging chads controversy in Florida?), with 271 electoral votes to Gore's 266, and Bush lost the popular vote ... but only by 0.51%. It was so close that the Supreme Court had to step in.
I guess Kamala blacked out for that election. To be fair, that was around the time she was dating Montel Williams!
