You may recall just last week, NTB presented you with the very real Cocaine Cat.
But just as you thought you'd heard and seen it all, a B-movie, low-budget production company is bringing you Cocaine Shark!
Coming July 7 to a DVD near you.
Against their better judgment, Wide Eye Releasing decided to make this film after Cocaine Bear received lots of attention online. Users pitched the idea of Cocaine Shark after New Zealand authorities announced that 3.2 tonnes of cocaine had been intercepted in the Pacific Ocean.
When the director of Cocaine Bear, Elizabeth Banks (anyone else surprised she's behind all this?!?), was approached to do this latest coked-out animal flick, she told PEOPLE if there's a great story, then she's in!
'Jaws' with cocaine, I don't see how that loses.
From Entertainment Weekly:
In Cocaine Shark, a mafia drug lord has unleashed a new, highly addictive stimulant on the streets called HT25, derived from sharks held captive in a secret lab, which causes monstrous side effects. After an explosion and leak at the lab, an army of mutated, bloodthirsty sharks and other creatures are set loose on the world as a small band of people tries to stop the carnage.
If you like the sound of that, then you'll LOVE the trailer.
And if you didn't like the sound of it, please just watch the trailer...
