It's official: Amy Coney Barrett has been confirmed to the Supreme Court.
In news that will shock no one, the sane and tolerant Left responded with curses, hatred, and portents of doom.
As I waded through the deluge of Leftist tears, I was reminded of the prophet Elijah as he faced off against the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18. Leftist ideology is ultimately a religion at its core, and its prophets are the celebrities and elites that tell us how to act and think. Like the prophets of Baal, these "progressive" voices took to Twitter last night, wailing to their gods and frantically dancing around the altars they have made.
But first, a question from Dr. Chadha:
What a great question. Let's check in with the Left on their rationale behind their fury:
Celebrities joined the outpouring of rage, declaring "OUR LIVES DEPEND ON YOUR VOTE."
Then, of course, we come to the high priests and priestesses themselves, who immediately declared the confirmation illegitimate and ran full steam ahead with the idea of packing the court:
I'd respond to this unhinged lunacy – where shrieks and curses are lobbed at a faithful judge on some premise that she will destroy all that is good on God's green earth – but I think Sen. Marco Rubio summed it up quite well:
What a country, indeed, senator. What a country, indeed.
