Lefty rag Jacobin tried to dunk on Walmart and got BODIED by Community Notes

It's not often we run across something like this, but I present to you, a brand new epic work of art.

First: The commie rag "Jacobin" published a story attacking Walmart for being successful while paying their employees "starvation wages."

Evil Walmart is MAKING MONEY! But their employees are literally STARVING TO DEATH! What a crime! Capitalism is the worst!

Then: The X community-noted this post into oblivion.

Walmart is paying employees $17.50/hour on average! For floor workers! For cashiers and greeters!

And Jacobin pays their writers, comparatively, NOTHING!

The person who wrote this for Jacobin would make more money working at Walmart than at that leftist magazine!

Listen to this hateful, jealous rage spilling from the keyboard of the Jacobin writer who compares Walmart to Ebenezer Scrooge.

It's a great time in America to be a parasitic retailer. Walmart is reporting a strong first quarter this year, beating market estimates ...

Behind the eye-popping financials, however, is a more Dickensian tale. While Walmart, the single largest private employer in the United States and the country's top retailer, caters more and more to "upper-income" shoppers, the state is subsidizing its profits. In 2023, the chain increased the minimum wage for roughly 340,000 of its hourly workers in the United States by as much as $2 an hour in some stores, to $17.50 โ€” leaving its rates behind its competitors, including Costco and Target โ€” with its overall range from $14 - 19 per hour depending on location. That's a pittance.

$17.50/hour is a PITTANCE? I know inflation is bad. I know it's tough to get by. But $17.50/hour is an insanely good starting wage. Of course, this ignores the fact that Walmart shouldn't necessarily be anyone's full-time goal, unless they plan to move up the ladder. But camping out at $17 isn't the worst thing in the world either.

(I mean, you could write for Jacobin.)

Let's park out with David Burge here because, let's face it, he's just about the funniest dude on Twitter.

Too perfect.
