Let's check on Politico's reaction to the deadly hurricane ... oh. Of course.
· Oct 5, 2024 · NottheBee.com

Hundreds dead, millions without power, the mainstream media is largely ignoring the story, the feds are slower than molasses to respond.

What's going on in the lower Appalachians is a full-scale disaster. So how do you think the corporate press is responding?

I don't know what else I expected from the hacks at Politico.

And they sound so giddy about it, don't they?

Research has shown that major disasters can influence both voter turnout and voter preference. And Helene has pushed this contest into novel territory: It's the first catastrophic event in U.S. history to hit two critical swing states within six weeks of a presidential election, based on a POLITICO's E&E News analysis of data compiled by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The challenge for Trump: The parts of western North Carolina and eastern Georgia that were flooded by the monster storm are largely Republican. In 2020, he won 61 percent of the vote in the North Carolina counties that were declared a disaster after Helene. He won 54 percent of the vote in Georgia's disaster counties.

The storm hit Trump voters. This could swing the election.

And you wonder why the federal response is dragging its feet?

In case it isn't clear what is happening here, the same way that they used Covid to explain extreme vote-by-mail swinging the 2020 election, and in the same manner the press planted seeds of Russian collusion to undermine Trump's 2016 victory, now the press is letting you know that if North Carolina and Georgia go to Kamala this year, well, it was just that pesky hurricane.

Make no mistake. This is a media narrative. The hurricane is now the October surprise.

And while you think the slow and underwhelming response would hurt Kamala at the polls, maybe, just maybe, the response is designed to keep people in these Trump strongholds away from the polls.

Former Obama advisor David Axelrod said as much.

They're not too broken up about the tragedy. Believe me.

I mean, read between the lines.

You don't hate journalists enough, do you?
