LOL! Joy Reid Accuses Elon Musk Of "Cultural Appropriation" For Calling Elizabeth Warren "Senator Karen"
· Dec 16, 2021 · NottheBee.com

We sort of got into the middle of this Elon Musk, Elizabeth Warren thing yesterday when we reported on how Musk absolutely torched the senator on Twitter.

We got involved because the man himself, Elon Musk, replied to our story on Twitter, and then Twitter prevented anyone from seeing our tweet if they got to it from Elon's reply.

Well, now Joy Reid has entered the fray of the Karen controversy.

This clip from Joy Reid's show is just too perfect. It somehow sums up Reid perfectly.

[Warning: Language]

Okay, I actually want to really examine what Reid is saying in this clip.

"[Musk] insulted Senator Warren. Calling her an 'angry mom' and referring to her as 'Senator Karen'.

So for so many reasons, being a freeloader, and a selfish and disrespectful one, AND for misappropriating black vernacular for misogynistic purposes, Elon Musk is the absolute worst."

Wait, so is "Karen", a term said by thousands of people from every race, a "black term" as Joy Reid claims.

I had no idea, and neither did Musk, and neither did anybody because that's not true. It's a meme for goodness sake.

And here's the real kicker. Reid said that Musk is "misappropriating" the term for "misogynistic purposes."

Do you know what that means? It means the term "Karen," according to Joy Reid, has absolutely nothing to do with gender. Despite it being a female name, and despite the term almost ALWAYS referring to a female, if Musk uses it in this way it's misogynistic.

Is she really saying that calling someone a Karen is supposed to be racist, not sexist?

Yep. That's exactly what she's saying.

What a defense, lol!

She is telling us that "Karen" is a word for black people to use against white people they don't like. Not a word for anyone to use on someone who complains.

This is off-the-wall crazy.

Also, Joy Reid, is it cultural appropriation if you take into account that Elon Musk is from South Africa, and therefore an African American?

I mean, really, if you are going on TV to complain to your audience about someone misusing the word "Karen," I think that makes you the biggest Karen of all.
