Lori Lightfoot seriously tried to claim that crime is on the decline in Chiraq 🤡
· Jun 30, 2021 · NottheBee.com

This level of gaslighting is both impressive and insane:

In other news, Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia!!

For anyone who believes Lori McClownfoot's absolutely ABSURD claims, here's a stat from the past year:

She literally made this statement following a weekend where 10 people were MURDERED and 65 people were SHOT in her city.

Then again, dozens of people get shot in Chiraq every weekend:

Here's a good summary of the reality of Chicago's crime problem:

This year in Chicago, 1,587 people have been shot, according to the most recent data from the Chicago Tribune. Likewise, records obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times indicate a surge in violent crime. Last week, the Sun-Times reported that Chicago has seen 317 homicides compared to 302 at the same time last year. Chicago had 775 homicides in 2020, according to data compiled by the Sun-Times, a 55 percent spike from a year prior. Still, Lightfoot has attempted to conceal this reality to the public and tell them the opposite.

Here's an updated homicide list with the names of every victim killed this year.

In addition:

On Monday, Chicago Police Department Superintendent David Brown told reporters at a press conference that criminals are being let loose and are then committing additional crimes. Brown also said illegal firearms are leading to the crime spike.

Note that Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. That seems to be working very well.

In case you're still doubting how absurd the statement was that the mayor made, here's a few more stories:

It's "offensive" to Lightfoot if you think this dude firing a full-auto machine gun into traffic at a major Chicago intersection this week isn't just a normal part of a thriving city:

Somehow, I think the brutal murders of human beings is infinitely more offensive than a reporter asking a tough question, but then again, I'm not a clown like Lori Lightfoot.
