This footage of a dog staring into one of those fancy-schmancy doorbell cameras is absolutely priceless.
It's as though the 18-month-old pup from Greenville, South Carolina, is peering into our very souls.
Owners Ryan and Mary Lynn Whitacre said their dog Rajah originally ran away because fireworks scared her. The couple had searched for seven hours, but hadn't found the pup.
"Ryan and I were freaking out and we felt really helpless," she said. "It was the longest seven hours of my life."
Then around 3 a.m., Rajah arrived home and rang the doorbell. The couple said they're not sure how the dog apparently knew how to ring the doorbell. They also said they hardly use the doorbell and doubt the dog has seen any visitors use it.
"She had thorns on her and seemed to have rolled in poop," Whitacre said. "So, it seems like she had a great time."
"She thought she was in so much trouble and she was sad and sulking, but we were like ‘we're just happy you're back.' It was hilarious, and we couldn't stop laughing."
The couple obviously needs a strategy to keep the dog secure during the Fourth of July celebrations in a few days, which may or may not include a few fireworks blasting off.
This year, they plan to spend the holiday at their parents' lake house.
