UPDATE: At least 9 dead, with over 900 more injured.
A magnitude 7.5 quake followed by a slightly less powerful quake shook Taiwan on Wednesday morning local time, collapsing buildings. A tsunami warning has been issued across the Pacific from Japan to the Philippines with 9-foot waves expected to slam into coastal regions.
(Authorities say the West Coast of the U.S. is not at risk.)
