This past comment from a new member of Mamdani's team is pretty par for the course.
That's Cea Weaver, who is Mamdani's new director of the Office to Protect Tenants, and that wasn't all the internet found. Her X account is no more, but people dug up her posts anyways.

Weaver is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and "previously worked as a campaign coordinator for Housing Justice For All and served as an adviser for Mamdani's mayoral campaign." She played a key role in the passing of New York's Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act in 2019.
She grew up in Rochester, New York, went to a private college in Pennsylvania, and then got her Masters at NYU in 2014.

Weaver also pushed to 'Elect more communists' in December 2017 — when a Harlem street corner was being renamed in honor of former Manhattan Rep. Vito Marcantonio, who was a Communist.
She also unloaded on law enforcement in a May 2020 rant that came during the furor over the death of George Floyd.
'The Police Are Just People The State Sanctions To Murder W[ith] Immunity,' she posted.
She's also a huge fan of rent-freezing, as seen in the cover photo of this article.
Honeslty though, this sounds like Mamdani's kinda girl; so in the world of parody that we live in, this is an absolute perfect pick by Mamdani.
