America's most popular fashion doll Barbie has received widespread criticism on social media for not featuring an Asian Barbie in their collection dedicated to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Mattel, the toy company that manufactures Barbie dolls, collaborated with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Tokyo 2020 organizers to release a new line of dolls in February 2020 specially designed for the Games.
The collection includes five dolls that reflect the five new sports that had been added to the Olympic program this year -- baseball/softball, sport climbing, karate, skateboarding and surfing.
The dolls were first announced in February 2020, but were featured on a social post from the company this week now that the postponed games have finished.
The mob was not kind when they noted that none of the Barbie dolls really looked Asian.

Apparently, one of the dolls was actually supposed to represent the "Asian" one:
In a statement reported by NBC, the company said that "our intention to represent the Asian community with the Skateboarder doll fell short and we fully receive and recognize the feedback."
"Moving forward, we will work to find more ways to champion all representation and celebrate the amazing achievements of all Olympic athletes, who are showing us that anything is possible," added a Mattel spokesperson.
Remember, this is a company that makes plastic dolls for little girls, but in the #CurrentYear, we've been told that every toy company MUST represent every feature, trait, and intersectional self-identity present on earth (except for white, straight, Christian).
And so, the tolerance mob rioted.
Mattel better watch out, though. If they make their doll look TOO Asian, they'll be guilty of sin as well.
When reached for comment, the world's children said, "Can I play with my toys now?"
Sorry, Barbie! I know you tried to appease the woke by releasing gender-neutral dolls and tried to renounce your white privilege on YouTube, but it wasn't enough.
It never will be.
