Welp...

Yeah man, the time and space between conspiracy theory and scientific fact is really diminishing these days.

Here's that Mayo Clinic link for the Doubting Thomases out there. Even the people on the Mayo Clinic forums seem to be shocked.

Hydroxychloroquine may also be used to treat coronavirus (COVID-19) in certain hospitalized patients.

Using this medicine alone or with other medicines (eg, azithromycin) may increase your risk of heart rhythm problems (eg, QT prolongation, ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia). Hydroxychloroquine should only be used for COVID-19 in a hospital or during clinical trials. Do not take any medicine that contains hydroxychloroquine unless prescribed by your doctor.

But I was reliably told by TEH SCIENCEβ„’ and our glorious truth-telling media suits that this was dangerous misinformation and the First Amendment should be suspended for anyone who dared say such crazy things.

On May 19, 2020, The Today Show said this:

In the wake of President Trump saying Monday that he is taking hydroxychloroquine to avoid contracting COVID-19, NBC News medical correspondent Dr. John Torres warns that studies show that "people should not be taking this" outside a clinical setting. He says that while the drug works against malaria, studies have not found it effective against the coronavirus, and "we have numerous studies that people who have started taking it have had heart arrhythmias, even fatal."

In June 2020, the FDA shot down the drug entirely for use against COVID-19.

The concern was that people would hoard the drug and take it improperly, but within a year, that developed into sheer, putrid hatred of anyone who would distrust Pfizer's jabbity jab:

(I'm not endorsing Stella Immanuel there, just sharing the crazy rhetoric from the media)

So we've moved from "anyone who suggests extremely cheap hydroxychloroquine might be effective as an anti-viral against Covid rather than the 100% effective vaccines is in an evil cult" to "hydroxychloroquine actually works in some severe hospitalized cases and the vaccines are so ineffective that you need a booster every 6 months forever."

Amazing, huh?
