Measles cases are spiking across the country but it probably has nothing to do with millions crossing the border so stop thinking that

Correlation doesn't always mean causation, but one starts to wonder...

As the number of measles cases increases across the country, Chicago has become the latest U.S. city to be at the center of an outbreak.

As of Thursday morning, eight measles cases have been confirmed, with at least seven among children and adults at a new arrivals shelter, according to the Chicago Department of Public Heath.

This hits home with me personally. I've got a 9-month-old kid who has been sick with the pea soup that's been going around all winter and we've postponed her measles shot until she recoups from round 4 of the yuck running rampant in our house.

So call me a bit skeptical that there's no possibility that the millions of migrants on the New Oregon Trail might be a driver of something like an uptick in measles. There have been over 7 million "border encounters" under 3 years of Joe Biden, and that's only what they are willing to admit.

Let's tune back into ABC to look for clues:

The first measles case in Chicago was confirmed on March 7 in a city resident whose source of infection is unknown, according to the CDPH.

Since then, seven cases have been confirmed at a new arrivals shelter in Pilsen, in the lower west side of the city, health officials said.

Oh, you mean THIS "new arrivals" shelter?

(You'll be happy to hear 900 people there were vaccinated)

So libs, let me ask: Importing mostly single young men from countries like Morocco, Haiti, Afghanistan, China, and Venezuela isn't enough for you to stop believing that open borders is the "kind" and "tolerant" policy. Neither has the uptick of crime, even the organized Venezuelan gangs in NYC or the repeat offenders who killed kids in Colorado, Missouri, and Georgia. Nor have the reports of trafficking rings tied to violent cartels. Nor have videos of babies being drowned or left to die along the border by coyotes who decided to cut their losses. Nor have testimonies of the "rape trees" across the southern desert where traffickers hang the clothes of their victims as trophies.

Will little kids dying from preventable diseases that were considered eradicated 20 years ago do it for ya?

I understand that a lot of this recent reporting on measles is only fearmongering from the media.

After all, this year isn't actually that far off other years, especially considered to 2019:

And I'm not saying we should shut down all travel and immigration.

But what I do find interesting is this: The same libs that wanted to banish me from everything for not getting the Covid jab, closed beaches, and roped off the gardening section at the grocery store are now praising Biden's efforts to fly in mass numbers of people who have never been vaccinated against deadly childhood illnesses, are traveling in large groups, and are unhygienic from a long, stressful period of travel.

And if I suggest that maybe we should screen people thoroughly and make them cross the border at legal sites designed for that purpose, instead of incentivizing a trafficking pipeline and/or flying them directly into the middle of America, I get called a racist or xenophobic.

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!

At least 45 measles cases have been reported across 17 states so far this year, according to CDC data. Due to delays in reporting national data, this number does not include the current outbreak in Chicago. Numbers are now close to the total number of cases -- 58 -- reported for all of last year.

Measles was considered eliminated in 2000 because most Americans were vaccinated against the disease or had some level of immunity. Over the last several years, however, vaccination rates have dipped and pockets of unvaccinated and undervaccinated communities have led to sporadic outbreaks across the U.S.

Translation: It's the anxi-vaxxer homeschool moms that are the problem, what with their organic farm somewhere in middle Ohio.

They're the real threat! Don't you go considering other possibilities, bigot!

Public health experts said there has been a "perfect storm" in the U.S. of vaccine hesitancy, vaccine access and vaccine fatigue.

Yep, just those crazy MAGA types probably. Nut jobs, amiright?

These complications can lead to ear infections, deafness, neurological complications or even death. Nearly one to three of every 1,000 children with measles will die from respiratory and neurologic complications.

"These are just huge, huge numbers that put a major strain on the health care system as well as the families themselves," Reschek said. "So, keeping it as isolated and keeping these outbreaks as sequestered as possible is in everyone's interest."

Good thing the health system is in great shape, our institutions are trustworthy, and we don't have millions of migrants flooding the hospitals?

Let's see where the Left's "compassion" train goes next!
