Mercedes' new G-Wagon is all electric, but they know you miss the rev of the engine so they put a fake V8 sound in a speaker under the hood

The new Mercedes-Benz G-Class, called a G-Wagon for short, is all electric. You know, because fancy trucks and SUVs need to be powered by batteries now.

But Mercedes knows that you're going to miss that rev of the V8 engine, so they have a solution.

They put a fake engine sound in the car that responds as if you're revving the engine. But it's a golf cart, so there's no REAL sound. It's all from a soundbar and it's for the benefit of the driver so he can feel like he's driving a real car.

I'm sorry, but this is dumb.

It's like playing pretend at this point, isn't it?

The environmentalists and lefties always do this, don't they? They can't eat a carrot. They need a "vegan burger" or "tofu steak." They can't just drive an electric car, it's got to SOUND like the real thing.

How dumb.
