Moderna wants to give you a fourth COVID shot and Pfizer wants a second booster shot for elderly folks and that seems like a lot of shots, doesn't it?

You may think you're done with the COVID shots, but I can assure you, they are not done with you.

First of all, if you're the average adult, Moderna wants you to get a fourth jab of its coronavirus "vaccine":

Drugmaker Moderna asked the Food and Drug Administration on Thursday to authorize a fourth shot of its Covid-19 vaccine as a booster dose for all adults...

In a press release, the company said its request for approval for all adults was made "to provide flexibility" to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and medical providers to determine the "appropriate use" of a second booster dose of the mRNA vaccine, "including for those at higher risk of COVID-19 due to age or comorbidities."

Seems like it wasn't long ago that we were promised the vaccines would, you know, wipe out COVID and solve pretty much every single one of our problems and we'd never have to worry about this stupid virus again. Now they're out here talking about "flexibility" and "appropriate use" and whatnot.

Meanwhile, if you're an elderly person and you got the Pfizer shot the first time around, and then the second time, well, Pfizer wants you to come back for a third-times-the-charm stick:

Pfizer and BioNTech are planning to ask the Food and Drug Administration to authorize a second COVID-19 booster shot for people 65 and older.

The companies plan to seek emergency authorization for this additional booster for older adults to strengthen protections against the omicron variant, according to two people familiar with the situation.

Oh cool neat. I mean, Omicron has been with us since, what, early November? It generated a massive wave of "cases" and has since receded to almost nothing. But sure I guess we need a second booster to protect against the variant that's already been here for a third of a year.

Don't worry, though, I'm sure these will be the last shots! Hahahaha!
