The Southeast continues to reel after the unimaginable damage of Hurricane Helene, with entire towns still flooded and isolated from the outside world.
As of Monday morning, 92 people have been confirmed dead across 6 states, and at least 600 are still missing.
Linemen are out in force to restore power before things get worse:
Nearly 2 million homes and businesses remained without power across the Southeast entering the new week, according to PowerOutage.us. But at the peak, more than double that number of homes and businesses were without power.
Georgia Electric Membership Corp. reports that 100 high-transmission lines were lost in the state. Duke Energy, with many customers in North Carolina, say linemen are out working to reconnect service for homes and businesses.
People are being washed away by flash floods.
Entire towns wiped away.
Private citizens are using their choppers to rescue people.

President Biden said Sunday that his administration has already set aside a signifiant number of resources to help the stricken areas - the White House also released an update on FEMA assistance - but many are criticizing the federal government for its response time.

In addition to this, another storm system is forming in the Atlantic that could impact these communities if it follows a similar course as Helene.
