Welp, the only #2 allowed on the subway now is the #2 train. The MTA has officially banned pooping on the subway.

Like, just right on the floor of the subway train.

Even though going #2 is technically already prohibited under the current rule, "creating[ing] a nuisance, danger or unsanitary condition (including, but not limited to spitting or urinating," the MTA has updated it to specifically include the word "defecation."

Because, you know, people are pooping on the subway.

According to MTA data, complaints of "soiled" subway trains have increased since the beginning of 2019. The agency insists that train cars aren't getting dirtier — it's just that more people are reporting problems.
