Noah Karberg of Nantucket is offering a $100 cash reward for the return of his wallet after a thieving seagull flew off with it.
Karberg said he had placed his phone and wallet on the tray of his shopping cart while he unloaded his groceries at the Stop & Shop, and while he was turned towards his car, the seagull swooped down, grabbed the wallet, then took it to a nearby rooftop to rifle through it.
Karberg told local news,
I was thinking, 'Oh my gosh, this is unreal, I gotta get my wallet back,' started chasing the gull across the parking lot like a crazy person, knowing I looked like an idiot, but I really wanted my wallet back.
The man who works as a manager at the nearby airport says that in addition to the reward money, whoever finds and returns his wallet, license, and cards can keep any cash remaining in the wallet and any money they happen to find from what the bird tossed into the wind.
He went on,
It was like a gull with an agenda. Tossed the cash and went straight for my Amex.
Just another reason why seagulls are secretly the worst.
