That right there is the first-ever video and only the second known sighting of Chirodectes maculatus — an incredibly rare and exceedingly beautiful box jellyfish found off the coast of Queensland, Australia.

A creature so big, so complex, so stunning ... and we've only seen it twice in recorded history. It's amazing to ponder how many oceanic species exist that we have never laid eyes on before.
