Why is this being staged like something out of a movie?
You're telling me the only way to get this guy to court is to land him on a helipad on a dock along the Hudson, parade him in front of the cameras with SWAT operatives flanking him on either side, and frame it all with a spacious view of the city?
You can even watch all the NYPD/FBI staff assemble for the big moment in this livestream recording, because apparently 50 officers aren't needed elsewhere in NYC today.
Can't you just land the guy somewhere less conspicuous and transport him to the arraignment in a normal police car? What is he, the Joker? Is Harley Quinn waiting somewhere with a rocket launcher to spring him?
Look here at Agents Jenkins and Smith demonstrating their superb trigger control while Officer Rodriquez carries their Qdoba takeout:
It's so tense that this guy needs a Surefire tac light in broad daylight (in case the suspect shoots webs out of his wrists and disappears down a dark alley?) ... but also the guy behind him is just strolling with his hands in his pockets like it's no big deal.
This Luigi guy has become a violent folk hero to the "mostly peaceful" types on the Left, even though he is (allegedly) a coldblooded psycho killer.
This whole spectacle only plays into that. The ladies who have Luigi tattoos are going to be salivating over it.
This will only make a murder suspect more famous.
And New York authorities must know it.
Even Mayor Adams was there!
I'd be less critical if New York didn't spend the last year trying to frame a normal dude as a white supremacist murderer for stopping a violent felon on the subway.
But here they are parading around the suspect in the brutal assassination of a CEO with a wife and kids ... and they want all the cameras and attention they can get.
Smells like a photo op, not an arrest!
