The New York Times polled people to see if they like Taylor Swift more than Donald Trump and I don't think they got the answer they expected

Let me start off by saying

The New York Times is really trying hard to make Taylor Swift relevant to the presidential election.

Like, really trying. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Yes, this is the headline on a story where Trump scored better with voters than T-Swift.

Let's look at the stats:

This poll was conducted by The New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College between September 11 to 16.

Only 44% of American voters polled in the swing state of Pennsylvania view the seemingly omnipresent pop star favorably.

According to the Times/Inquirer/Siena poll, 47 percent of voters view Mr. Trump favorably ...

I, for one, am shocked that hard working coal miners in Pennsylvania may not be Swifties.

The comparison here is utterly stupid. You're talking about a former president who has endured a decade of negative press comparing him to Hitler ... and a pop star with mega-fame among middle-aged millennial women.

What's amazing isn't that Trump has a 51% unfavorable rating among those polled (similar to Kamala Harris's 49% percent unfavorable rating). Politicians often have a 50/50 split in polls.

What's amazing, is that the global pop star has a 34% unfavorable rating.

The political divide is clear: 70% of Democrats like Swift, and only 11% don't like her. Along Republicans, 23% like her, and 60% don't like her.

That kind of political polarization for a celebrity is crazy, especially when this is the "American sweetheart" pushed all last year by the NFL.

Better get to working on a song about your breakup with the American people, T-Swizzle!
