North Carolina woman fights DMV to keep her personalized license plate which reads "FART"

Alright, everyone has a friend like Karly of Asheville, North Carolina.

Karly, obviously one of the funniest people in Asheville, recently personalized the license plates on her pickup truck to read, simply, "FART."

And I'm sorry, but if you don't think that's hilarious then we can no longer be friends.

Yes, after several complaints from her fellow Asheville residents, Karly is now fighting for the life of her silent-but-deadly personalized plate.

[Karly] Sindy said she received a letter in the mail from DMV on Feb. 25 telling her that complaints had been lodged about the plate.

The DMV told Sindy she might be allowed to keep the plate if she replied to the letter with an explanation of what the plate meant to her and why she believes she should be allowed to keep using it.

Well, Karly is hilarious, which means she's also super smart. So she went out and created an organization called Friends of Asheville Recreational Trails, or F.A.R.T. for short. The group has a website, a mailing list, and even sells merchandise. And they recently held a meeting where 15 people showed up.

So it was with great confidence that Karly sent this letter to the DMV explaining her room-clearing personalized plate.

Nicely done, Karly.

Nicely done.
