To the chagrin of many customers, Cracker Barrel announced a new menu item on their Facebook page this week and the disappointment was palpable.

Cracker Barrel has officially joined the dark side by adding a plant-based sausage alternative to the menu with the Impossible Sausage.

Brad's wife would never have allowed this!

(I guess it's better than eating the bugs though.)

Fans were very, very unenthused about the announcement. Many, reasonably, said that they would never visit the restaurant ever again.

Here are some of my favorite comments left on Cracker Barrel's post:

• "Send them back to Gates. We don't eat in an old country store for woke burgers." - Kevin Sullivan
• "I just lost respect for a once great Tennessee company." -Del Delbridge
• "Are you kidding me? Who do you think your customer base is? I still order the double meat breakfast and it's not even on the menu anymore." - Joe Wicker

Of course, many "normies" found this post and started to make fun of the red-blooded American patriots who oppose this garbage from Cracker Barrel.

Most of the comments are now from people who think that it's totally cool that the Barrel is adding this disgusting option and think that these patriots are overreacting.

Sure, they're funny. But that's not the point.

The point is that we have fallen so far from grace now that Cracker Barrel is promoting this ridiculous anti-meat product.

These guys really don't know their customers!
