Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a major move on Thursday by suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren, who has refused to enforce the law and has let criminals get by easy in the 13th Judicial Circuit.
Warren has repeatedly said he would not prosecute individuals who help children procure sex change procedures and that he would not enforce pro-life laws. He is also accused of releasing rioters and other violent criminals, refusing to prosecute them if it fit his own political agenda.
DeSantis slammed activist attorneys like Warren and their focus on "personal conception of social justice over what the laws require of you."
The governor pointed to the rising crime in cities like San Francisco where leftist authorities have refused to prosecute those who break the law in the name of "equity."
In Warren's place, DeSantis appointed Hillsborough Judge Susan Lopez to serve as Acting State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Court.
From DeSantis:
State attorneys have a duty to prosecute crimes as defined in Florida law, not to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda. It is my duty to hold Florida's elected officials to the highest standards for the people of Florida. I have the utmost trust that Judge Susan Lopez will lead the office through this transition and faithfully uphold the rule of law.
DeSantis' press secretary, Christina Pushaw, specifically noted that Florida is taking aim at prosecutors like Warren who have been backed by leftist billionaire George Soros in order to enact socialist policies in law enforcement.
Goodness it feels good to hear the term "rule of law" again.
Innocent people are being terrorized by criminals who are allowed to run rampant in this nation right now by prosecutors who won't prosecute (unless you're a parent with concerns at a school board meeting, that is).
In our current Wild West, it's good to see that there's a new sheriff in town.
