Our society needs to start having more babies—like, a lot more—and we need to start having them right away.

So of course the expert class is telling us the exact opposite—and not only that, but that virtual kids are just as good as real ones:

Virtual children that play with you, cuddle you, and even look like you will be commonplace in 50 years, and could help to combat overpopulation, an artificial intelligence expert has claimed.

These computer-generated offspring will only exist in the immersive digital world known as the 'metaverse', which is accessed using virtual reality technology such as a headset to make a user feel as if they're face-to-face with the child.

They will cost next to nothing to bring up, as they will require minimal resources, according to Catriona Campbell, one of the UK's leading authorities on AI and emerging technologies.

Yeah, what a fresh new hellscape that is.

So who is this Catriona Campbell, then? One of the UK's leading authorities on artificial intelligence. She has a new book out, called AI by Design: A Plan For Living With Artificial Intelligence.

What does she say in it? That "within 50 years, technology will have advanced to such an extent that babies which exist in the metaverse are indistinct from those in the real world."

What a statement!

This is all to save the planet, of course!

What is the point? That some people might decide never to be pregnant, ever again.

That already happens, doesn't it? True, for loads of reasons, including concerns about the environment, overpopulation, the rising cost of bringing up a child, etc.

I got news for you, folks: Whatever you want to call it, a thing that "costs next to nothing" and will "require minimal resources" is not a child, and it's obscene to pretend otherwise.

I got some hard, inarguable facts about kids for you:

They're also an inestimable gift from God and made in His image, an absolute joy, and an indispensable part of any society that wants to consider itself healthy and thriving. You can't have a prosperous and happy civilization without kids.

If there was one thing that the classic movie Children of Men got right, it was this: A world without children is one with no hope, little happiness, and much bitterness and violence.

Don't create a fake kid. Get married and make a bunch of real ones. You'll be happier for it.
