Oklahoma School Superintendent calls for $3 million to provide Bibles in public schools

This is awesome.

Oklahoma State Schools Superintendent Ryan Walters might be the best school superintendent in the country right now. He has been at the forefront of removing gender ideology and pornography from public schools, and now he's calling for funding that would give every student access to copies of the New King James Bible.

A few months ago, Walters sent a letter to state school districts, ordering them to incorporate the Bible into the school curriculum in 5th through 12th grade.

'To ensure our students are equipped to understand and contextualize our nation, its culture, and its founding, every student in Oklahoma will be taught the Bible in its historical, cultural, and literary context,' he said. 'Adherence to this mandate is compulsory.'

School districts have thus far expressed their objections to the order, and said they plan to ignore it.

Walters has responded by calling for $3 million in state funding to provide a copy of the NKJV in every classroom.

'We are not looking for this religious group or that one or this church to say, "This is how we interpret this,'" he said. 'That's not the intent here. It's simply to be the text of a historical document and its usage in American history.'

Keep going, Ryan Walters!
