I understand that the Haitian politician spilling water all over himself was pretty funny, but I think Trump's meeting with the Ukrainian actor-turned-president eclipsed him.

Don't worry about that third assassination attempt though: The elites can't risk their boy Zelensky getting murked!

You have to admire it. Zelensky came to fame by playing the president on a TV show (and pretending to play the piano with his private parts).

He then ran off that fame by creating a political campaign with the same name as his TV show and became the real president.

Meanwhile, Trump is a celebrity TV star and actor in his own right.

The only difference is that Trump didn't stop being Trump when he became president, whereas comedian drag-star Zelensky became super dour and started wearing military sweatpants everywhere (he's not the best method actor).

Trump's stated goal is to bring an end to the war, which would most likely mean ceding eastern Ukraine to Russia. This is something that Zelensky doesn't want, and neither does the Uniparty of Endless War. There's lots of money and Cold War angst to be had in Ukraine yet!

Which is probably why Zelensky was pretty clear about his choice in the US election, calling JD Vance "too radical."
