As if Hollywood and the Academy Awards couldn‘t be any more annoyingly woke, the academy has decided on new "inclusion" standards that movies must meet in order to be nominated for Best Picture.
The project team was created to respond to the multiple years of the #OscarsSoWhite "controversy" that crops up on Twitter whenever the award nominees are announced.
This group has identified four areas of inclusion that HAVE to be met in order to qualify for consideration to be nominated for best picture.
Those standards require one of the following: at least one of the lead actors or significant supporting actors is from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group; at least 30% of all actors in secondary and more minor roles are from certain underrepresented groups; or the main storyline, theme or narrative is centered on an underrepresented group.
And that's just the first requirement.
In addition to on-screen diversity, films must also have diversity in "creative leadership," "industry access and opportunities," and "audience development" or marketing teams.
Specific racial or other "minority" quotas (women, LGBT, persons with disabilities) MUST be met to appease the wokies who are running Hollywood's most pReStIgIoUs awards show.
This is pure pandering and caving to the leftist mobs, of course, but it's what we've come to expect from our "moral superiors" in Hollywood.
