It seems not everyone believes in the glorious revolution of progressivism after all:
Out-of-control crime and homelessness, with many openly injecting drugs on public streets, have prompted residents to begin thinking about moving out of the city, according to a new poll.
"New polling released by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce shows that eight out of ten of San Franciscans consider crime to have worsened in recent years. The results were consistent across gender, age, ethnicity, party affiliation, and neighborhood, and homeownership status," the Chamber wrote.
The poll found that 70% of residents thought quality of life has declined in the city for the second year in a row. The Chamber was particularly surprised that 88% said homelessness has worsened recently and 80% said addressing homelessness should be a high priority.
In addition, the poll said more than 40% of residents say they are planning to move away.
You have to wonder: Why would you leave this leftist paradise?
Is it that you afford ten homes in the Midwest for the price of an apartment in SoCal?
Is it the human feces everywhere?
Maybe it's the city's expensive programs that pay for homelessness instead of fixing the insane costs of living and red tape that's been created by high taxes and other dumb government policies?
Everyone loves to live around scores of used drug needles!
What about all the crime??
Car break-ins have skyrocketed in the city, with police reporting that car burglaries skyrocketed 753% in May compared to the same time last year.
Here's what one resident, Lindsey Stevens, had to say recently about moving out of the city:
"There's nothing worse than seeing such a beautiful place in such disarray. I really thought I was going to be sad when the movers loaded up the last container on Saturday, and I have never been more relieved. I honestly think in the last three years, we've seen a massive decline in the quality of life and that was only enhanced over COVID. The homelessness has been a severe problem, people are not feeling safe walking their dog… the number of break-ins seem to be constantly on the rise."
To fix all these problems, San Fran Mayor London Breed has pledged to throw another billion in tax dollars to fight homelessness.
That's sort of like putting water on a fire you're actively fueling, except as your taxpayers move away, you'll have less and less water to put on said fire.
