Paris Hilton has 20 sons frozen, waiting to be destroyed or given away, while she tries again and again to have a girl.
That's the reality of our modern reproductive systems technology where you can pick and choose which babies you want to live and die.
Hilton and Reum welcomed their first child Phoenix Barron via a surrogate last month, and the "Simple Life" star told Glamour UK — for the magazine's February cover story — that she had just made another attempt and was "waiting" to see whether any of the new embryos were female.
"Carter and I had already been talking about the future, and then the world was shut down, so I was like, ‘What do you think about us making embryos?'" Hilton explained, saying that they had begun the process while much of the world was locked down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
First off, a woman renting someone else's womb through surrogacy – hiring someone else to have a baby for her – is morally dubious at best and demonic at worse.
Especially if she's capable of carrying her own child but is paying someone else so she can maintain her figure or because she's scared.
But then creating 20+ human embryos – human lives! – only to be frozen and then probably discarded because they aren't a girl or just aren't what you want right now? That's actually demonic on a level I can't describe.
Hilton then revealed that she had already gone through the process of creating embryos seven times — and that the net result had been 20 embryos, all of them male.
"I have all boys. I have 20 boys," she said. "I just went through the process again a month ago, so I'm waiting for the results to see if there's any girls."
Hilton also recently revealed that she had chosen surrogacy out of fear that going through pregnancy herself might trigger memories of past trauma she alleges happened while she was at an Utah boarding school at 16 — including involuntary gynecological exams.
She told People Magazine, "I'm just so scared. I think, again, leading back to Provo of even being in a doctor's office, just all of that. The shots, the IVs that they put in."
I have sympathy for someone not wanting to undergo trauma. But has she considered the trauma of carrying someone else's baby to term only for the baby to be taken away immediately and them never meeting each other?
The buying and selling of wombs is wrong, and two wrongs don't make a right.
Paris Hilton can afford all these fertility treatments, so she can clearly afford adoption.
"When I was in ‘The Simple Life,' I had to be in a room when a woman was giving birth, and that traumatized me as well. But I want a family so bad, it's just the physical part of doing it. I'm just so scared," she continued. "Childbirth and death are the two things that scare me more than anything in the world."
Hilton was steered toward surrogacy by Kim Kardashian, her longtime friend.
We have created a culture so indifferent to life that a celebrity sees no problem freezing 20 of her own sons to be forgotten about so that she can have a girl.
She's scared of life and death, and apparently everything in-between – all the struggle and adventure that makes life worth living.
