There's no statute of limitations on murder, as police in Las Vegas proved this week by re-opening a 27-year-old cold case:
Police searched a home in the Las Vegas area on Monday night in the long-dormant murder case of Tupac Shakur, according to a law enforcement source.
"LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation," Las Vegas police said in a statement. "We will have no further comment at this time."
Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting on a street corner off the Las Vegas strip, about 25 minutes from Henderson. His murder has never been solved and there have been no arrests made in connection with his death.
The Notorious B.I.G., who had recently feuded publicly with Tupac, was initially considered a suspect in the murder; he himself was subsequently killed in a similar drive-by shooting in Los Angeles six months later.
The searched home was reportedly located near Interstate 11 and Wagon Wheel Drive in Henderson.
