The climate peeps aren’t happy that Zuck is raising cattle at his Hawaiian bunker on a diet of beer and nuts. Check it out.

Remember when news broke that Mark Zuckerberg was building himself an underground fortress in Hawaii?

Well, he's been talking more about his prepper plans.

Not only does he not seem to buy into the climate crisis (building an underground bunker on an island seems like a bad move in the wake of global flooding from the ice caps melting), but he also doesn't seem to buy into the "Eat ze bugs" messaging coming out of the World Economic Forum.

Not only will he not be eating bugs underground, it sounds like he'll be dining on the best beef available.

On Instagram, he discussed his plans for raising Angus and Wagyu cattle on his Ko'olau Ranch. It's not clear if they're located on top of or near the underground bunker, but they're at least on the same island of Kauai anyway.

Zuckerberg also said that his cattle will be enjoying a steady diet of beer and macadamia nuts.

"They'll grow up eating macadamia meal and drinking beer that we grow and produce here on the ranch. We want the whole process to be local and vertically integrated. Each cow eats 5,000-10,000 pounds of food each year, so that's a lot of acres of macadamia trees."

Some readers worried that giving cows beer wouldn't be good for them. In response Zuckerberg replied,

"…that it mostly makes them more hungry, leading them to eat more." In addressing the quantity, Zuckerberg quirkily emphasized that "it requires a substantial amount of beer to get a cow drunk."

Of course not everyone is excited about Zuckerberg's new hobby.

PETA of course weighed in, saying,

Every animal is someone. This "project" is killing animals and the planet and is traumatizing for your kids. There are so many other productive things to do, like creating innovative vegan foods that save animals, help the planet, and improve human health.

Then the climate nut-jobs had their say. One example, ecologist and data scientist Nicholas Carter, said,

Zuckerberg could ship a kilo of macadamia nuts about 200 times around the world before its greenhouse gasses matched those of a kilo of his local beef.

And then there are the regular folks,

We'll end with my favorite response:
