UPDATE: FBI Director Kash Patel released details about the victims and the shooter.

Annunciation School, a Catholic K-8 institution in Minneapolis, was attacked Wednesday morning by a shooter dressed in black with a rifle. At least 20 victims were reported as of 11:15 a.m. EST (revised to two dead, 17 injured several hours later).

The shooter died by suicide.

From a local Fox affiliate:

NBC News has more:

'There is an active shooter here in Minneapolis right now, an unknown amount of victims at a church and school,' Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin said on Wednesday.

'EMS has requested mass casualty ... if any of you are doctors or otherwise first responders that could help — it seems to be a fairly significant shooting,' said Martin, who is the former head of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and is currently in Minneapolis for a DNC convention.

Annunciation School just started the academic year on Monday.

FBI, ATF, and local authorities have all responded to the "mass casualty."

The incident took place while children were attending morning Mass, according to Fox 9.

The shooting comes the day after a suspect opened fire near another local Catholic school, Cristo Rey High School, using a semiautomatic rifle chambered in .223. The suspect got away, but one person was killed and six people were injured. Many people are wondering if that perp is the same shooter in Wednesday's attack.

We'll let you know when we hear more details.
