Police have identified the shooter at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church yesterday as 36-year-old Genesse Moreno from El Salvador, who also goes by multiple criminal aliases, including the male name "Jeffery Escalante."

Multiple independent sources tell KHOU 11's Jeremy Rogalski that Genesse Ivonne Moreno, 36, was wearing a trench coat and a backpack when she entered the church with a child and a long rifle. The child was also shot and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said...

Moreno had a criminal history dating back to 2005, and previously identified as Jeffery Escalante, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety records search. Prior arrests include failure to stop and give information, assault of a public servant, assault causing bodily injury, forgery, possession of marijuana, theft, evading arrest unlawful carrying weapon.

CNN reported on Sunday that Moreno reportedly had an AR-15 that said "Free Palestine" on it.

Other posts reportedly show support for BLM and other leftist causes.

Off-duty police on site took down the shooter shortly after she began opening fire inside of Lakewood Church. After she was shot but before she died, Moreno claimed she also had a bomb; however, her backpack did not contain a bomb and there was no bomb found inside the church.

Clearly, there will be more details to come in this case as more information comes out from authorities.
