Another 20th century legend lost to us:
Bob Barker, the longtime host of the gameshow "The Price is Right," has died at the age of 99.
Barker's publicist Roger Neal confirmed his death early Saturday morning, saying that he died of natural causes in his Hollywood Hills home.
Barker was born in 1924. Part Native American, he grew up on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in Mission, South Dakota.
His career hosting "The Price is Right" lasted 35 years; he ranks with Alex Trebek and Pat Sajak as among the longest-running hosts of a single game show.
A longtime animal rights activist, Barker was married once, to Dorothy Jo Gideon; the two met when they were teenagers and married in 1945. She preceded him in death in 1981 at age 57, from lung cancer.
